What is Recruitment?
Recruitment week is a two-week period at the start of each semester of the year where organizations from MGC host events for new prospective members that are interested in joining an organization. The recruitment process is a period of time when new prospective members can get to know brothers and sisters, the core values, and the purpose of the organizations they are interested in joining.
Are The Recruitment Requirements the same for MGC organizations?
Each organization’s recruitment requirements are different. If you are interested in joining a specific organization, please check out their chapter profile and their social media for more information.
Quotes about Rush from Current Members of MGC Community
“Being a sister of Omega Phi Beta Sorority, Incorporated has truly changed my life for the better. Through the new membership education program, I was able to learn so much about myself, my culture, and those around me. I was able to put my time management skills to the test and come out a better version of myself, equipped with lifelong skills and meaningful relationships.”
- Richell (2022-2023 MGC President, 2022-2023, ΩΦΒ Historian)
“Recruitment is a great opportunity to learn more about Sigma Psi Zeta and meet the active members. It provides a space for everyone to get to know each other in casual settings, with fun activities and educational events over the course of a two-week period. It is completely free and non-binding. This is a perfect chance to see if the organization is a right fit for you, and also to meet some new people. Coming to recruitment has created friendships and connections with people in all years and majors. I would say it is definitely worth checking out as you might be pleasantly surprised by what you find.”
- Bernice (2022-2023 MGC Internal Affairs Officer, ΣΨΖ 2022-2023 President)
“Recruitment is a great opportunity for students, especially ones who are new to college because it’s one of many ways for them to socialize, interact, and meet new people. My experience made me step out of my comfort zone by meeting the brothers and learning about the values and the brotherhood they represent. Additionally, it also helped me think about fraternity differently than what the general perspective peers have described to me. The two-week recruitment process is definitely a good experience because you never know what Greek life could offer you.”
- Jaycen (2022-2023 MGC Vice President of Marketing, ΠΔΨ Member)
