What is Pi Delta Psi?
Pi Delta Psi Fraternity, Inc. was founded by eleven men from different Asian backgrounds on February 20th, 1994 at the State University of New York at Binghamton. These men came together and set up a structure that would create an understanding between various Asian cultures, build a brotherhood that exceeds the academic years, and discover and build an individual’s skill sets. They were responsible for establishing the guiding principles that 28 years later developed into one of the nation’s largest Cultural Asian Interest Fraternities. Expanding to 30 universities in the United States with over 3,000 members nationwide, a dream that began for the eleven founders has become the work and dedication of thousands across the country and across seas.
What is the chapter’s purpose?
Founded on November 19, 2005, the Alpha Alpha Chapter is culturally driven, where we strive to explore our cultural identity and understand its value in today’s society. We are also socially impactful, where we participate in our Northeastern and Boston communities in any way possible through collaborative events with other Greek and non-Greek organizations and volunteer events with organizations in Boston. We want to leave our mark and positively impact our community.
What are the core values in your organization?
Academic Achievement, Cultural Awareness, Righteousness, and Friendship and Loyalty are the four pillars that represent the organization. Pi Delta Psi strives to achieve academic excellence in our studies and work, to understand our cultures and how it fits in today’s world, to fight for what is right in the face of injustice, and to value the relationships we build.
